As Jack points out...And as so many others have tried to point out since this story blew up...Sherrod and her hubby have been a "thorn" in the government's side for quite a long time. To fire her, willy nilly, in a matter of hours, was something that struck even those most critical of obama's administration.
But, as the article points out...There are always 2 sides to every story, and we've probably not heard the last of Sherrod, her hubby, or their racially motivated views of the world:

Then, of course, when the full version of the speech emerged -- which showed Sherrod as a recovering racist, not as a practicing one -- the Obama White House fell all over itself apologizing, and the media turned their guns on Breitbart.
Breitbart, however, had put a potentially huge story into play the only way he could -- through sheer provocation. As he knew, and as we are learning, the story goes well beyond Sherrod's long-ago racist mischief-making with a poor white farmer.
This past Sunday, in his weekly column for the San Francisco Chronicle, "Willie's World," veteran black politico Willie Brown confirmed that "there is more to the story than just [Sherrod's] remarks."
"As an old pro," Brown acknowledged, "I know that you don't fire someone without at least hearing their side of the story unless you want them gone in the first place." Brown observed that Sherrod had been a thorn in the USDA's side for years, that many had objected to her hiring, and that she had been "operating a community activist organization not unlike ACORN." Although Brown does not go into detail, he alludes to a class action lawsuit against the USDA in which she participated some years ago.
Pardon me for just a moment will you? I need to "air" something out for a minute here....
Let me get this straight...barack obama can refer to african-Americans as "mongrel people", implying that they, and really all of us, are made up (or have an ancestry of) mixed backgrounds and ethnicity's. It's ok for him to do that? REALLY NOW????
Ok so...If someone who isn't black would've said the same thing...In the highly racially-motivated climate we live in these days...Would THAT have been ok too???? See where I'm going with this? If everyone who isn't black is going to be held to a different standard, then it's HIGH time those who are using that tactic get it thrown back in their face. So, I'm going to go right ahead and assume that the president made a racist comment, because, THAT is what would happen if someone other than him would've made this comment.
See folks....This racial BS needs to stop, and in order for that to happen, we have to have EVERYONE INVOLVED playing nice with each other, respecting the differences instead of using them against one another. We cannot have one standard for one section of society, and another standard for another, and so on and so on. That's how this is supposed to go. That's what my mom taught me,...That's what I was taught in school. Living in "harmony"...All that stuff, 'ya know?
President Obama calls African-Americans a ‘mongrel people’ By Sam Youngman - 07/29/10 11:00 AM ET
NEW YORK — President Obama waded into the national race debate in an unlikely setting and with an unusual choice of words: telling daytime talk show hosts that African-Americans are “sort of a mongrel people.”
The president appeared on ABC’s morning talk show “The View” Thursday, where he talked about the forced resignation of Agriculture Department official Shirley Sherrod, his experience with race and his roots.
When asked about his background, which includes a black father and white mother, Obama said of African-Americans: "We are sort of a mongrel people."
"I mean we're all kinds of mixed up," Obama said. "That's actually true of white people as well, but we just know more about it."
The president did not appear to be making an inflammatory remark with his statement. The definition of mongrel as an adjective is defined as "of mixed breed, nature, or origin," according to dictionary.com.
A majority of likely voters say the federal government should take legal action against cities that provide safe havens to illegal immigrants and cut federal funds to so-called "sanctuary cities," a Rasmussen Reports survey shows.
The survey, released Tuesday, said 54 percent support legal action against sanctuary cities and 60 percent support withholding federal funds from the jurisdictions.
Critics of sanctuary cities say the Justice Department is acting unfairly by not pursuing such cities for breaking the law while taking legal action against Arizona for instituting state measures against illegal immigration.
"The federal government should be suing San Francisco, which has refused to cooperate with the federal government in enforcing immigration laws," said Corey Stewart, chairman of the Prince William (Va.) County Board of County Supervisors.
In 2007, Mr. Stewart was at the forefront of the issue, driving some of the county's toughest immigration laws.
"Our belief is that President Obama should be suing mayors [of sanctuary cities], not Arizona," said Maryland state Delegate Patrick L. McDonough, Baltimore County Republican. Mr. McDonough said he plans to introduce two immigration laws during the next General Assembly session: one that calls for a state ban on sanctuary cities and another patterned after the Arizona law.
A representative for U.S. Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr. recently said a "big difference" exists between a state or locality choosing not to use resources to enforce a federal law and a state passing its own immigration policy that "actively interferes with federal law."
Rasmussen found that 56 percent of those surveyed oppose the Justice Department's action against Arizona and that 61 percent favor legislation similar to Arizona's in their own state.
LOWER MANHATTAN — Enormous artifacts chronicling 9/11’s devastation are scheduled to arrive at the World Trade Center site this fall, as construction on a below-ground museum continues.
The items include a 47,000-pound piece of the North Tower’s antenna and a 10,000-pound elevator motor that once propelled workers up into the skyscrapers.
“These objects have been altered by history and they are invaluable to preserving the story of 9/11,” said Joe Daniels, president of the National September 11 Memorial & Museum.
The memorial — a tree-dotted plaza with waterfalls pouring into the tower footprints — is scheduled to open for the 10-year anniversary of the attacks, with the museum following a year later.
The museum’s builders will have to lower the largest artifacts in before the structure is complete because they would not otherwise fit through the front door.
Other artifacts that are arriving this fall include a two steel tridents from the facade of the North Tower, which weigh 110,000 pounds apiece, and the steel T-beam known as the “World Trade Center cross,” which became a makeshift shrine during the recovery efforts. The museum will also display an FDNY Ladder 3 truck that partially melted in the conflagration.
These artifacts will join the “Last Column,” a 37-foot piece of steel covered in mementos that was installed in the museum site last summer.
Daniels expects the memorial to draw 5 million to 7 million visitors a year. The museum, which will require visitors to pass through security, will be able to accommodate 2.5 million people a year.
New Patriot Journal Confirms Authorities on Scene in Laredo Written By: Cindy Chafian Published: 7/25/2010
Update:
As of 10:00p.m. PST New Patriot Journal has verified though independent sources in the Laredo police department that there may be some validity to the rumors that have been circulating for the past 24 hours. Reports are that U.S. Border Patrol agents as well as officers from the Webb County Sheriff’s department are currently working a call that was received by a local rancher in the Santa Isabel River area outside of Laredo, TX and that the County and some Federal officials are currently on the scene.
Speaking on condition of anonymity, sources inside the Laredo P.D. confirmed reports that starting Friday night an altercation between unidentified people had taken over one ranch but that the situation is not within the jurisdiction of the Laredo P.D. so they don’t have officers working it.
The U.S. Border Patrol as well as the Webb County Sheriff will not deny these reports. The following articles relay the time line of devloping events throughout the day:
